Client supplied box specifications and annual purchase amounts.  Using C.O.P.S. proprietary system we put together a detailed analysis of each item that determined they were paying almost 40% more than they should have been.

A bid sheet was prepared asking the existing supplier, plus nine alternative corrugated suppliers, to provide bids on each box purchased.  The low bid received represented potential savings of $210,000 compared to their annual corrugated purchases.  By having an accurate projection of what the per item cost should be the client was advised that they could still receive almost $50,000 more in annual savings.  Dal-Tile authorized a second round of bidding where C.O.P.S. projected costs were provided to the corrugated suppliers. 

Six suppliers participated in the second bid, with two representing annual savings in excess of 35%.  The low bid was within $1,000 of C.O.P.S. original estimate.  C.O.P.S. provided a full analysis of each bid to the client which resulted in their choosing to work with the supplier who did provide the lowest bid.

Purchases of corrugated boxes were moved to the new supplier and C.O.P.S. continued to monitor monthly purchase orders to ensure the promised savings were realized.

Following completion of this project, C.O.P.S. was asked by Dal-Tile to perform the same analysis at other plants across Texas – resulting in additional savings to our client.
